Paul the 3rd - what a beautiful page for your Dad! I wish I had been fortunate enough to have met him. You have his sweet dimples when you smile. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how much you will miss him. My prayers are with you and your family.

Paul was a great brother-in-law. He had a way of making you feel special with his big bear hugs and his generous compliments. We need more Paul's in this world.

I will always remember Uncle Paul's contagious smile and his HUGE hugs. I will miss him, and those those things i will miss the most about him.

My Uncle Paul was the sweetest man! I think everytime I saw him he told me how pretty I was. In later years he would always tell my girls how beautiful they were. And he meant it, he made you feel very special! The very definition of a gentleman. I love you and will miss you Uncle Paul!

I've had the honor of knowing him for 21yrs for he was my Grandpop every time i ever had the chance I'd enjoy visiting him and Granny i enjoyed his presence and his company just enjoyed just talking with him an it was always a pleasusre family members or just plain visit i always enjoyed every minute because at their home it was home to me like my 2nd home and id always liked staying over there as much as i could i would always look forward to it.

Grandpop amazing man he was always friendly to other people and an joker/(had good humor) always made peoples day or somehow got somebody to smile or laugh and was good at it which made people's day if they were sad or having a bad day he would be the one to go to he really was a special person.

I was/am very lucky to have him as my grandfather and very proud to have had him as my grandfather!

I love those photos. He is so cute! I'll always remember your Dad and Mom holding hands and making each other laugh. And your Dad saying, "Any story worth telling once is worth telling twice."

I was fortunate to have a father as special and amazing as Paul Mayes Jr. Growing up, I wasn't as aware of how special he was as I should have been. Don't get me wrong, I was appreciative, but wholly unaware of how much he meant to others.

It wasn't until I was in my 30's that it became very clear how special of a man he was. The fact that it took that long was to my detriment. I am glad I was cognizant for Dad's last 20 years as to how wonderful of a man he was. Sometimes it takes outsiders to point out the obvious.

I have had numerous friends comment on his kindness, openness and welcoming spirit.

I could not have had a better father.
